Wellcome to PALLABI (DEGREE) COLLEGE
In May 1993, under the chairmanship of Ruhul Amin Master, 115 local dignitaries decided to establish the college for the benefit of higher education in the area. At the meeting, an 11-member organizing/ steering committee was unanimously formed for the implementation of the college with 1 president, 2 vice-presidents, 1 secretary and 6 executive members. The organizing/ management committee started class XI activities from 1993-1994 academic year by renting 4 rooms of a semi-finished tinshed house at Plot No. 10, Road No. 9, Block-A, Section-12, Mirpur, Dhaka.
The college was named "Pallabi College" in the newly formed Pallabi police station. At present the college of the same name is located in Rupnagar police station, Mirpur, Dhaka.
Pallabi College was established in 1993 at Pallabi Police Station in the northern district of Dhaka and has continued its educational activities with the recognition and grant of the government. At present about five hundred students are studying in this co-educational institution and 42 teachers / staff are working. The college was recognized by the Board of Education in 1996. In the revised expansion plan of Mirpur Section-8 (Duaripara) by Dhaka Housing Department, on the proposal of Mirpur Housing, Plot No. 1/1, Road No. 5, Mirpur Section-8 (Duaripara), Rupnagar, Dhaka- Pallabi College is being run at 1216.
Pallabi College is a degree level institution. Appropriately approved by the Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Dhaka and National University. Its EIIN-108335, College Code: 1283, College Code (Degree) under National University: 6489. The college is governed by a constitutional governing body under the National University. At present, educational activities are being conducted in the college in HSC level and degree (pass) level. The college was Enrolled in MPO in May, 1997 at the higher secondary level and in October, 2002 at Degree (pass) level. MPO code of the college is 2810073201.
With the direct support of Honorable Member of Parliament for Dhaka- 16, Mr. Alhaj Ilyas Uddin Mollah, the college is now gradually progressing.
To the north of the college are Pallabi Lake, Mirpur Cantonment, Eastern Housing of Extended Pallabi and Alobdi Village; to the East Atomic Energy Commission residential area, Pallabi residential area and Dhaka-Uttara highway, to the west 30 feet wide highway, National Housing Authority residential area, rehabilitation plot, extended Pallabi Eastern Housing and Turag river and to the south Housing Authority and WASA residential area and Rupnagar Tinsed residential area is located.
